Non-Local: Cosmic Constant MRPG

Nonlocal began as a set of short stories that was presented as a nonlinear audiobook using geolocative augmented reality.  Different parts of the story were geolocated from Interior Alaska all the way down to Seattle.  The story is made to be read out of order, whichever augment you are around.  For the project we used the Layar mobile app.  Selections from Nonlocal were published in Cirque Magazine.  "A Few Notes Concerning Alaskan Death Metal" won the Andy Hope Award when it was published that year.  The augmented reality portions of the work were premiered at Noxious Sector Projects in Seattle, and a series of augmented storytelling events were part of Latitude, an art festival put on by the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Humanities Forum (which the image above is from).
